Before Tanning To ensure that you receive maximum benefit from your SunFX tan, it is important that you exfoliate your body prior to application. Pay attention to any rough areas like knees, elbows, ankles, and the tops of your toes. Do not apply moisturizer to your skin prior to getting your tan as this would reduce the effectiveness of your tan. We also recommend that you do not wear any make-up.
What to wear: Wear suitable tanning attire to your appointment. We suggest a bikini for women and dark shorts or swimmers for men. We also recommend that you wear dark, loose fitting attire after your appointment. Minor rub off can occur after your tan, and whilst minor rub off will easily wash out of most fabrics, some lighter colored materials, including leather, may stain.

After Tanning Once your tan is in place you must leave it to dry completely. Your SunFX technician will ensure that your application is dry before you leave, but as a precaution, do not wet your skin for at least 5 hours after the tanning session. Showering the following morning is the best option. We recommend that you do not exercise or perspire excessively between the tanning and the showering phase. When showering do not be concerned if some of the initial bronzer washes off. This is part of the tanning process. Your skin will continue to tan. Applying moisturizer twice daily will reduce the rate at which your skin exfoliates keeping your tan looking better for longer. Avoiding long baths, spas, and extended swimming sessions will also help prolong the life of your tan. And of course you should avoide any products designed to exfoliate your skin.
